Abit to change company name

DigiTimes reports that Abit has announced a special shareholders meeting to discuss several items, after yesterday's announcement of USI's intention to purchase Abit.
This includes a name change, the disposition of Abit's building in Neihu, the revising of the company's articles of incorporation, disposition of Abit's assets and the release of the directors from non-competition restrictions imposed by Article 209 of Taiwan's company law.
According to local Taiwanese media Abit will concentrate on the distribution of components and networking products, while continuing to leverage some of its motherboard manufacturing services to their plant in Suzhou, China.
