iolo System Mechanic Pro 6 Review

Techgage has just put up a review on the latest version of iolo's system optimization suite, System Mechanic Pro 6. There isn't much new to this version, but there are a lot of updates. Is it worth the price they are asking? You may want to get the non-Pro version if you already have a virus scanner and firewall, but it's a good overall package anyway.

Do you feel that your computer could run faster? Is it being held back by the endless junk piles lying around your hard drive? iolo is back once again, with their latest System Mechanic incarnation, which improves on the tried and trusted tools in the previous versions. Let's see how it stands up today.

The default settings are a disaster! Having used the cleaner, I could no longer log on to Ebay and some other sites. My passwords were no longer functional. System Restore repaired the problem. It's vital to change the defaults before using - clutter cleaner is the culprit. The basics are fine as in Sys.Mech 5. If you have version 5, stick with it.
