Last year, Tivoli Audio had the ingenious idea of turning its great-sounding, single-speaker PAL into a portable iPod speaker simply by adding an "i" to the beginning of its name, changing its color to white, throwing in a connecting cable and--voilà--the iPAL was born. The company is now using a similar formula to iPod-ify its SongBook line of portable clock radios, adding a slick hideaway dock and a second, detachable speaker that turns the little guy into a ministereo system that becomes portable when you stick six AA batteries in it.
