HP has a reputation for being conservative with the graphics packages on their notebooks. But the company made some real noise in September of 2005 when it released a re-worked Dv4000 with the ATI X700 GPU. I'd read some good reviews of the HP dv4000 and had been impressed with it, but I'd been put off because it only offered Intel integrated graphics. I'd been looking for a mainstream notebook and the size and weight of the Dv4000 were right in the ballpark, a 15.4" widescreen and it weighed a shade over 6.5 pounds with the 6 cell battery..
