Acer isn't a name most of us associate with quality LCD screens, but as UKGamer discovered, the AL 1951 is not only very nicely priced, it also performs beyond its brief.

"The AL1951 we're looking at today is unashamedly a no-frills model that aims to bring the Acer brand to the masses. My worry is whether cost cutting will leave a product that’s barely usable. It's always a tricky path to tread, and a bad product, however cheap, can reflect badly all the way up the range."
