Xbox 360: Perfect Dark Zero Review
Posted on 2005-12-27 18:02:59 by LSDsmurfIf you're lucky enough to have scored an Xbox 360, then you're probably already playing Perfect Dark Zero. One of the most anticipated games at launch, the hype surrounding its release was only rivalled by that of the epic Halo 2. PDZ cannot escape comparisons to the massive hit, but it's important to remember that PDZ is not Halo 2, nor does it purport to be. The creators of the prequel to N64's Perfect Dark were able to use Halo: CE and Halo 2 as role models in creating the controls and overall idea behind PDZ, since all fall under the genre of first-person shooters. However, PDZ is a futuristic spy shooter, while the Halo franchise falls under futuristic sci-fi shooter. PDZ does not exude the seriousness or the realism of Halo 2, but continues to incorporate the ideas of the original-reconnaissance, espionage, and silly characters (remember Elvis?). While a bland storyline runs through this intense shooter, the gameplay redeems its faults.
