Intel’s latest high-end chipset is the 975X Express which was designed to replace the older 955X chipset, and in doing so it brought a few new features to the table. The primary reason for releasing this chipset originally was to offer support for the upcoming Pentium XE dual-core processors, which feature two independent 2MB L2 cache, 1066MHz front-side-bus, Hyper-Threading Technology, and Virtualization Technology for improved multi-thread operations. The chipset also supports dual graphics ports, offering two PCI Express x8 ports.
