The black Paragon has a mirror finish, so when you are done swapping files at lunch you can check for food in your teeth. The black mirror finish on the covers is not a piano finish but more of an actual mirror. The black color appears to be a clear black lacquer over the metal. Definitely an attention getter. The metal covers are aluminum, but the frame they attach to is made from plastic. For this reason, heat dissipation could be an issue if used for a prolonged period of time. The bottom cover has four rubber feet to keep the unit from sliding around.
