Microsoft is determined to move its standalone software business into a Web services strategy that merges live online updates, storage, and browser-based applications with a series of clients that stay anchored to individual PCs. One of the first commercial releases in the project is the modest (perhaps too modest) Windows Live OneCare suite of security and maintenance tools. You can try OneCare for 90 days free and then sign up for a $49.95 annual fee that covers up to three PCs.
