Looking from the back of the S3 IS, the power switch is first in the right corner. The switch, which features a small lock that has to pressed to move the switch, decides whether the camera starts in Capture or Playback mode, and whatever the choice, returns to the middle position, the selected mode being indicated by a small LED that glows orange for the capture modes, and green for playback. At the centre of the switch, a small round button allows turning off the S3 IS.
