Epson's 2006 refresh of its PictureMate line of portable snapshot printers includes three versions: Pal, Snap, and Flash. At $150, the entry-level Pal serves up a more limited feature set and slower print speeds than the other two PictureMate printers. Still, it's easy to use, prints 4x6 photos quickly, offers acceptable image quality, and makes choosing ink and paper a no-brainer. We like the print quality of the Canon Selphy DS810 better, and its PC-free photo enhancement options are better than the PictureMate Pal's options.
