Pioneer DVR-320S Review

Pioneer was, fittingly, one of the pioneers in the optical recording field, and the company's long experience is amply demonstrated in the DVR-320S' combination of high quality and trick features. Among the latter are the option to vary the recording bit rate in order to balance quality with available disc space, and a couple of options that you'd expect to be associated only with hard-drive-equipped recorders. You can, for example, decide partway through a recording that you'd like to watch it from the beginning, and have it continue recording. As you watch, you can also skip forward (bypassing commercials), up to the point where you reach real-time viewing. This feature requires a 2X DVD-RW disc.
