Although Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices have been around forever, their main use has traditionally been in large offices and enterprises. However, with the explosion of connected devices, even small office and home users are looking at separating their data from their computing devices- especially with the popularity of devices like the iPad or SSD based notebooks that don’t offer much storage capacity.
