The keyboard and mouse can play a large part in home theaters when available but are not necessary. You can run an HTPC from the remote when its set up correctly but if you plan on doing any web surfing or game playing on your HTPC then it’s mandatory to have them both. Logitech also sent their Cordless Click Plus mouse which is a less expensive option to the MX700 with the same great performance but minus some of the nicer features.
