For the past year or so, heatsinks have virtually halted in design. This could be from one or more reasons, but more than likely a result of heatsink design reaching its full potential in effective cooling. Since the late 90's heatsinks have been the norm to use for cooling video cards, CPUs, chipsets, etc. They have also made huge strides with different phasing of materials such as low-grade aluminum to high-grade copper. Its kind of interesting actually, but every once in awhile a different kind of heatsink will come along that is just plain worth your hard earned dough.
