General:
  • All dialogs and screens will now default to the center of the client. Some screens will remember their position.
  • In some dialogs the banners have been removed.
  • Various textual changes in the 'getting started' wizard.
  • The sound that is played when a chatwindow is invisible on an incoming chat message has been changed.
  • The button 'My Phonenumber' has been removed from the SMS tab.
  • Minor textual changes have been applied.
  • All textboxes that represent a field with a limited character count will now stop accepting characters when the limit has been reached.
  • Phone-to-phone contacts are sorted on contactname instead of on contacttype and contactname.
  • When searching for a contact takes a long time, you can stop the search by clicking the stop search button and refine your search criteria.
New features:
  • The language editor will now display the file that is currently being edited.
  • The language editor will indicate if the current file is dirty. This is done by placing an asterisk in the title bar.
  • The language editor will not discard any changes without warning the user.
  • Both columns in the language editor are sortable.
  • Large multiline strings can now be translated with the language editor.
  • The dashboard now displays a tooltip.
  • The startup parameter -status:away has been added.
  • The startup parameter -status:notavailable has been added.
  • The startup parameter -status:busy has been added.
  • The startup parameter -status:appearoffline has been added.
  • The startup parameter -logonsilent has been added.
  • When a user enters the wrong username/password combination too often the user will be locked out of the system. A warning will be displayed before the lock-out. The lock-duration will be displayed.
  • Better VU meters have been implemented.
  • A 'Getting Started Wizard' has been created. New users will be prompted automatically.
  • An 'echo123' service has been implemented.
  • A proper dashboard has been created. The dashboard can be activated through the view menu. It features a basic and an advanced view, selectable through the right mouse menu.
  • When a similar audio device is plugged in it will automatically be selected.
  • New field 'Area code' is available from the Tools -> CallSettings menu. When country and area code are entered correctly, short dialing is possible for phone numbers within the same region.
  • Voice Engine 6.0: Internal architecture changed, added support for on the fly codec changes
  • When filtering the contactsview, the filter will also be applied to the username in stead of the displayname only.
  • Button added in own profile to change display picture.
  • Display picture added in caption of own profile dialog.
Bug fixed:
  • The client could crash when it was exited with chat dialogs open.
  • White spaces at the beginning of lines where trimmed in the language editor. Therefore they where not correctly translatable.
  • A memory leak in the html drawer has been solved.
  • The language version is now also stored in the language file.
  • It was impossible to remove displaypictures.
  • When entering a username in the suggestions screen on the getting started wizard the client would crash.
  • Closing the 'Getting Started' wizard while a testcall was still active would crash the client.
  • RTP handling bug solved.
  • When a phone-2-phone call is doubleclicked from the history-view a new phone-2-phone call will be started with the a and b number from the history.
  • A resource leak has been removed.
  • The autologon link was not working.
  • Included voice-engine 6.01, modified packethandling to improve soundquality in lowlatency receive environments.
  • Due to bugs in the import/export functions of the language editor the functionality has been changed. Import/export from excel has been replaced by CSV import/export.
  • When the most-used-list was disabled, the selection of contacts could be wrong after a contact search.
  • One some NAT routers P2P calls to people that where 'busy' would timeout in stead of giving the correct 'busy' message.
  • The character '–' (hex: 96) has been added to the readability characters. This means that phonenumbers with this character are recognized as valid phonenumbers.
  • In the search dialog the male/female box, the first item text < do not specify > was replaced with male.
  • New VoiceEngine implemented.
  • Display picture path was not created correctly under vista.
  • Calls that where already ended could still be added to a conference. This caused the client to crash.
  • The display picture memory was not managed correctly. This could result in a crash.
  • Due to a bug, the main connection could be closed when p2p connections where aborted.
  • In the caller id tab of the optionsscreen, the voip-in number could be preceded by a double '+' character.
  • Voice Engine 5.21: Vista only problem, when a speakerdevice was selected which had a native samplerate of 8khz and a p2p call was started the device could not be used. This issue has been fixed now.
  • When an audio device is removed and no audio devices are available anymore during a call, the call will be ended.
  • When no audiodevices are present, the volume slider will be disabled.
  • When the other party of a peer-to-peer call was unable to accept the call due to system errors, the call would stay in the connecting state rather then being aborted.
  • Audio device changes where not detected on Vista systems.
  • When the shift button was pressed during startup to prevent autologon, the client would not come to the foreground.
  • Menu items that are only usefull when the client is logged on are now disabled when the client is not online.
  • Phonebook contacts are visible when phonenumber is smaller than 8 digits.
  • Add pstn contact dialog disapear after adding contact.
  • When dialing a username with 2 digits or more (without '00') in the dial editbox, the client dialed only the digits in the username.
  • The volume slider did not work correctly. It only worked one way; from system to client.
  • Switching audiodevices resulted in unpredictable volume slider behaviour.
  • Non-contacts in the 'Most used contacts' list could not be called by clicking the Phone2Phone icon.
  • Included voice engine v5.20. Resolved problem that, with Vista, the volume slider was not working. (since version v5.18). Because of same bug mic auto volume control was not working either.
  • The client could take back focus when a call was ended, even if the focus was already changed by the user.
