The operating systems often have their own unique loader code, and won't let you use other systems, unless you know tricky methods to get past this. MasterBooter works by replacing the program in the MBR with its own loader code that you can configure, so you can select from any installed operating systems. MasterBooter uses 6 more sectors after the Master Boot Record.
