PeerBlock 0.9.2 (r86)

PeerBlock is a new version (aka a "fork") of the popular Peer Guardian 2 software. It blocks "known bad" computers from accessing yours, for example governments, corporate entities, and those flagged for anti-p2p activities. Peer Block maintains the functionality of the original Peer Guardian 2 program, but includes fixes for various issues that remain unaddressed in the latest (~2 year old) version of PG2. PeerBlock supports Windows XP, Vista, and Win7 - and maybe Windows 2000 too, though nobody's been testing that - in both 32- and 64-bit flavors.

Changelog:
  • Fix for OS Crash - A very few users have reported hitting a bug in which can cause Windows to crash during shutdown/reboot. (Bug#33) This release fixes that problem, and is the primary reason we're releasing a new version right now.
  • Update Checking - Starting with v0.9.2, PeerBlock will now check for for program updates when checking lists. If it finds that a new version of PeerBlock is available, it will offer to take you to the PeerBlock site (this page, in fact!). You'll need to download and install the new version yourself, as we don't have any kind of "automatic updates" feature built in yet. This should help keep you up-to-date in case we need to release any new bugfix releases like this one.
