Songbird 1.4.2

Posted on Tuesday, December 22 2009 @ 14:16 CET by

Songbird was found in 2006 with the vision of delivering a free and open media player that works with all modern web services, and across the newest generation of media players and smart phones. We wanted to provide an immersive music experience, so we made sure users could browse the web to find new music, listen to old favorites and experience a deeper connection to the music they loved. Because we believe in a music experience controlled by the user, we made it easy for users to customize Songbird, select just the features they wanted, and change the interface to suit their mood. We know technology changes fast and no one wants to be locked into one device or platform for their music choices, so we continue to work to ensure Songbird works with a variety of portable media players and smart phones. Which means you can get your music wherever you want it, they way you want it.

Changelog:
We’ve fixed the snag mentioned in our previous post. It wasn’t anything serious — just a UI glitch exposed during updates in which some remnants of the old Gonzo feather were showing up in the new Purple Rain feather, which made mashTape and LyricMaster hard to use. If you’re interested in the full details, head on over to bugzilla.songbirdnest.com and read up on bug 19334.
