ATi Catalyst beta Vista build 5270

Posted on Friday, February 03 2006 @ 18:50:50 CET by LSDsmurf

ATI is one of the first graphic providers to make a 64-bit driver that supports the Longhorn Display Driver Model (LDDM) – the Microsoft Vista revolutionary graphic driver standard – as well as the first to provide LDDM drivers for integrated graphics processors. By making LDDM drivers available more than a full year prior to Windows Vista release, ATI provides developers with a stable, feature-enabled and performance-optimized platform for application development.

Known Issues

  • Graphics cards with a 512 MB frame buffer may have issues with the Windows Vista 5270 build on certain system configurations
  • Installing the BETA display driver for the ATI Radeon® X1800 series on systems running the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system may result in a black display and the operating system failing to respond
  • Hot-plugging a secondary display device and attempting to swap between the primary and secondary display devices currently results in a notification dialog box failing to be displayed and the display devices failing to swap
  • Catalyst® Control Center: Attempting to Select a Different Desktop Mode when clone mode is enabled, may result in clone mode remaining active when clicking the finish button
  • Hot-plugging a secondary display device under the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system results in the display resolution changing to 1920x1080 which may result in the display for the secondary display adapter not displaying the desktop properly if the resolution is above its supported display modes
  • Installing the BETA display driver for the ATI Radeon® X1300 or X1600 series on systems running the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system may result in only a black desktop display and the operating system failing to respond to any commands
  • Installing the BETA driver on systems containing an ATI Radeon® X550 or X700 series product may result in a continuous reboot of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system
