Earlier this month, word hit the web that Chris Hook, AMD's global product marketing director, left the firm to take up a role at another company. Now we know where he's heading as an update to Chris Hook's LinkedIn page reveals he's in charge of Discrete Graphics and Visual Technologies Marketing at Intel.

This makes Hook the third high-profile former AMD employee to jump ship to Intel. Month ago, AMD Radeon Technologies Group head Raja Koduri caused a shockwave by taking up a job at Intel and days ago there was another minor bomb as CPU architect Jim Keller also joined Intel. Hook worked in various marketing positions at AMD/ATI over the last two decades.

Basically, it looks like Koduri is getting the gang back together, and is turning Intel more into "AMD inside". The hire also indicates Intel is serious about yet another attempt at discrete video cards. This is the chip giant's third try at breaking into the video card market.
