Future of Chinese foundry HSMC seems in doubt

Last year, we wrote an article about Chinese foundry startup HSMC. Founded in late 2017, this firm was working on 14nm and 7nm process technology. HSMC's roadmap was very ambitious but it seems they're no longer in the race. DigiTimes writes the future of HSMC is in doubt as operations have been paused due to financial issues:
China foundry startup facing uncertain future: Wuhan Hongxin Semiconductor Manufacturing (HSMC), a logic IC foundry founded in late 2017, has had its available production facilities left idle with its expansion project put on hold due to financial issues, according to sources familiar with the matter.
