DigiTimes writes about Wuhan Hongxin Semiconductor Manufacturing (HSMC), a chip foundry we've never heard about before.

Apparently, this logic IC foundry, which was founded in late 2017, is working on 14nm and 7nm process technology. If the company succeeds, it could become China's most advanced contract chip maker.

According to the foundry's website, it aims to tape-out its first 14nm SRAM test chips in Q3 2020, with risk production expected to start in 2022. The project schedule also reveals that development of 7nm process technology is planned for 2020 with the first SRAM test chips expected in 2021, before moving to risk production in 2024.
