Here's some more info about the GeForce 8800:
Nvidia claims it has 128 shaders and some crazy super-dooper handsome numbers but we really wanted to know how many Raster Operations Units ROPs it might be capable of. It turns out that it has 24 and it can do 24 pixels per clock, ROP. We expected at least 32+ but you cannot have it all.

This means when it comes to drawing pixels, after all the calculations G80 should not be much faster than the existing G71 architecture. Obviously it has to be a bit faster here and there as it is more advanced, DirectX 10 support dooper, unified but it can draw only 24 pixels. We are talking about Geforce 8800 GTX card. The Geforce 7900 GTX has 16 ROPs.
