Apple iPod roadmap - three new products in 2007

Next year Apple may release three new iPod models. This includes the widescreen iPod vide and possibly a 16GB flash memory video player.
According to AppleInsider, citing a source with a handle on what Apple's up to, indicated the widescreen iPod may yet replace the current fifth-generation iPod. Much will depend on how buyers react to Apple's upcoming set-top box, codenamed 'iTV', and to the iTunes Movie Store as more content from film studios becomes available. If the reaction isn't positive, it's suggested, the widescreen iPod may not come to market in 2007 at all.

The report contains no details of the other two iPods alleged to be on Apple's roadmap, though just recently one Wall Street analyst indicated a 16GB Flash-based video-capable iPod was on the cards.
