Asus Eee PC 900 has lower-capacity battery

Several sources report Asus has downsized the battery of the Eee PC 900. Originally the Eee PC 900 had a 5800mAH battery but the retail models only have a battery with a capacity of 4400mAH.

The reason why Asus isn't shipping 5800mAH batteries with the Eee PC 900 are battery shortages. A fire in a notebook battery plant last month cut supply and drove prices up.
