LSI SandForce shows 1800MB/s SSD controller at Computex

Posted on Wednesday, June 05 2013 @ 09:29:25 CEST by

The SSD Review delivers news that LSI SandForce is showing off a next-generation SSD controller capable of achieving 1800MB/s read and write speed with 200,000 IOPS!
The SSD world has just taken a massive step forward with the unintended displaying of LSI SandForce next generation flash storage processor, Codenamed GRIFFIN, at Computex this week. Where other websites were noticing the incredible 1.6TB capacity of this SSD, The SSD Review observed that it is a single chip design, LSI SandForce driven, and capable of speeds of 1800MB/s read and write with 200,000 IOPS, all in a typical notebook 2.5‚ÄĚdesign! Our later attempts to have the story refuted as a mistake in specifications met with negative results and this discovery indeed seems to be 100% authentic. Such performance has guaranteed once again that the original SandForce team, alongside with LSI, has once again made an enormous technological jump in the world of SSDs!
