Outcast: Second Contact arrives this autumn (video)

Does anyone remember the game Outcast? Launched in 1999, this game scored awards for being the best adventure game of the year as it had a good mix varied gameplay and impressive graphics. One of the unusual things about Outcast was that it used voxels for rendering rather than polygons, so you had to have a very fast CPU because all the early 3D cards that were seeing big adoption back then couldn't accelerate the game.

For 1999, the game had stunning graphics with very beautiful landscapes and water animation, and also impressive faces and lip-syncing. But the downside is the game had a lot of bugs and glitches, and few gamers could run it smoothly.

Now you have another chance to play Outcast as French developer Bigben Games is working on a HD remake of Outcast. The new game is called Outcast - Second Contact and is expected this autumn on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
