Word is going around that Intel cut a total of 137 jobs at its Internet of Things (IoT) division. This is the second round of job cuts this year and it's the result of the cancellation of the Joule, Edison and Galileo product lines.
Electronics Weekly
writes 97 jobs will disappear at the Intel HQ in Santa Clara, California, plus another 40 at the County Kildare campus in Leixlip, Ireland.
In Q1 2017, the IoT segment contributed $721 million to Intel's revenue. That's around 4.87 percent of Intel's first-quarter revenue.
