VideoCardz spotted the first 3DMark scores of AMD's upcoming Radeon RX Vega video card. The results reveal what we've been fearing for some time now, with a core clock of 1630MHz and HBM2 memory clocked at 945MHz the Radeon RX Vega is a tad slower than NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080.

These scores were uploaded to the 3DMark database by Jason Evangelho aka TheGameTechnician, who is a marketing specialist at AMD's Radeon Technologies Group. As VideoCardz suggests, it will not get any more official than this before launch. It looks like the scores were accidentally submitted as they've already been deleted. Does AMD have another magic ace up its sleeve or was Frontier Edition indeed representative of RX Vega? Guess we'll find out within a couple of days.

The site also heard unverified rumors that Radeon RX Vega will launch on August 8th and that custom-design cards won't arrive until mid- to late August at best.
