The moment of truth has arrived as tech reviewers received AMD's Radeon RX Vega 64 with final retail drivers. The first batch of cards reportedly arrived yesterday and this results in the first leaks of final Radeon RX Vega 64 performance.

Since the launch of the Frontier Edition earlier this summer, there's been a lot of ruckus about the performance level of the Vega GPU. The lower than expected performance and the awful performance/Watt surprised a lot of gamers and sparked theories that immature drivers were to blame.

We will probably know for sure later this week but the verdict will most likely be that Vega is good for compute applications, but not that great for gaming. VideoCardz compiled a list of leaked 3DMark scores and most of the results show it trading blows with an overclocked GeForce GTX 1080.

However, if the rumors about the cryptocurrency mining performance of Vega are true this could still turn out a good seller for AMD. It just won't be gamers that will gobble up these cards like hot cakes.
