Half-Life writer publishes script of Half-Life 2: Episode 3

Marc Laidlaw has published the plot of Half-Life 2: Episode 3. This is the real deal, Laidlaw joined Valve in 1997 to write the story line of Half-Life. He helped with the original game and wrote the script of the sequel as well as both Half-Life 2 Episodes. Additionally, he worked four years as the lead writer on DOTA 2.

Laidlaw left Valve in January 2016 because he wanted to return to writing his own original stories. Now Laidlaw is back in the spotlight as he has published a story called "Epistle 3". All names have been changed for legal reasons but it's obvious that this is (or was) the story of Episode 3. Presumably, that game is no longer under development.
