One of the more interesting tidbits of the last couple of months was the announcement from Intel that it's going to launch a Kaby Lake processor that features an on-module Radeon graphics chip from AMD. More details about this project are expected at next week's CES show but in the meantime we have some fresh information that was accidentally posted by Intel's India website.

The listing reveals details about the Core i7-8809G and it confirms the integrated graphics are indeed based on AMD's current Vega architeture. There was some uncertainty about this as the architecture was never named, causing some to speculate it could be Polaris based.

These doubts now disappear as the specification sheet from Intel lists "Radeon RX Vega M GH" graphics. Additionally, Intel also confirms the processor itself has integrated Intel HD Graphics 630. This implies the HD Graphics 630 will be used when the extra horsepower of the Vega chip isn't required, to keep power usage and heat output down.

The Core i7-8809G may be the fastest chip in Intel's Kaby Lake + Radeon lineup. This quad-core, eight-threaded part has a base clockspeed of 3.1GHz, 8MB L3 cache, DDR4-2400 support and a Target Package TDP of 100W.
