Reuters heard from an anonymous source at NVIDIA's GPU Technology Conference that the company suspended its self-driving car tests.

No exact details about why NVIDIA made this decision, but the move is seen as a cautionary response to the Uber pedestrian fatality from a week ago.

NVIDIA is testing self-driving technology around the globe, including in New Jersey, Santa Clara, Japan and Germany.

Shares of NVIDIA dipped on the news and are currently down 3.55 percent to $235.81.
