Over at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) announced that USB 3.2 will replace all prior USB 3.x specifications. Basically, all USB speeds will be called "SuperSpeed USB" and a suffix will clarify the maximum possible speed.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 will be known as SuperSpeed USB and will support 5Gbps, while USB 3.2 Gen 2 will carry the SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps marketing name, and as you can guess, will support 10Gbps speeds. The fastest version of USB 3.2 is Gen 2x2, this one will offer 20Gbps and will be marketed as SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps.
