Over the past couple of days, various tech giants decided to skip this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona and several more decided to scale back their presence. This includes names like NVIDIA, Samsung, LG, ZTE, Ericsson, Amazon, and Sony.

Now we hear that Intel is pulling out out MWC to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its employees and partners. Officially, the novel coronavirus outbreak has claimed 1,018 lives but it seems the economic impact is much larger.
“The safety and wellbeing of all our employees and partners is our top priority, and we have withdrawn from this year’s Mobile World Congress out of an abundance of caution. We are grateful to the GSMA for their understanding and look forward to attending and supporting future Mobile World Congress events,” said a spokesperson for Intel, in a statement.
Additionally, NTT Docomo cancelled its plans and TCL has dropped its Saturday press conference.
