Intel Pentium 4 overclocked to 5GHz

Posted on Sunday, February 05 2006 @ 21:10:38 CET by

Intel won't be delivering a 5GHz Pentium 4 but some crazy Japanese people over at Watch Impress did manage to clock a Pentium 4 631 from 3GHz to 5002MHz!

To achieve this they did use some extreme cooling, but it's not LN2. They used some sort of gas cooling, a huge heatsink and lots of big fans too.
