ATI's consumer-electronics chips shipments grew with 215%

Shipments of ATI's consumer-electronics chips for handhelds, HD TVs and set-top boxes have grown with 215% in September - November (The first quarter of fiscal 2005).

ATI Taiwan also confirmed that the proportion of consumer-electronics chips have surpassed 10% in its overall business during the same period.

ATI further claimed, based on data released by Mercury Research, that its graphics chips for computers held 59% of the global market during the first quarter of this year.

The company also held 55% of the desktop-use discrete-graphics-chip market and 72% of the notebook-use discrete-graphics-chip segment.
