Epic Games just acquired Quixel, the maker of the Megascans library. This is a collection of high-resolution, photorealistic environments that can be implemented in video games. The best part perhaps is that Megascans is now free for Unreal Engine users and that subscription prices are lowered for everyone. Furthermore, Bridge and Mixer 2020 will be 100% free for everyone
Becoming part of Epic allows us to give back in ways we could have never dreamed of. Quixel will remain, our people will remain—the crucial difference is that now, thanks to Epic Games’ incredible generosity, we will be able to do so much more for the art community.
