NVIDIA G80 to sample in November

Posted on Thursday, September 28 2006 @ 00:24:09 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The Inq heard NVIDIA's G80 will likely sample in November and there's a big chance the chip will be in stores later that month.
We also learned that most specifications such as a 1500MHz clock are far from true and I have to remind you that we are talking about a 90 nanometre chip only, so don’t expect miracles from the clock speeds. It won't be more than 700MHz and we strongly believe it will end up even lower than that.
ATI's R600 has been delayed to January/February 2007 so NVIDIA will likely again have a few months advantage.
