ASUS modular Splendid MA3850M graphics card spotted

Posted on Tuesday, July 29 2008 @ 01:11:42 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Japanese hardware site PC Watch got their hands on the modularized ASUS Splendid MA3850M graphics card. This card features the Splendid HD color processor from Asus and a Mobility Radeon HD 3850M which uses MXM, a rarely used interface that was originally designed for notebooks with replaceable graphics cards.

Here are some photos of the Splendid MA3850M chip sandwich. The card is a bit shorter than other Radeon HD 3850 cards but it's a lot thicker:

The site says the card will be available for 23,800 yen, at the current currency exchange rate that's about $220.
