AMD debuts Athlon 64 X2 5200+

Posted on Thursday, September 07 2006 @ 00:18:48 CEST by

The Inq says AMD released an Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor called the 5200+.
We all know that these numbers are meaningless but AMD also said HP has released a business desktop PC range, the DC 5750, which uses a number of processors including this 5200+ semiconductor.

If you buy 1,000 of these things, they cost $403 each - AMD said they are available right now, but didn't say how many of them are up for sale, nor whether its channel partners would get a bite of the cake before HP. Or Dell, for that matter.
