AMD silently rolled out a new Athlon 64 processor - the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition.

The 65 processor is clocked at 2.6GHz, with 1MB L2 cache (512KB per core) and a 65W TDP. The special thing about this "Black Edition" is that it features an unlocked multiplier so you can get it to higher clockspeeds more easily.

The AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition is priced at $136 in 1000 unit quantities, about $9 more than the regular 5000+ model.
