Intel acquires 64-bit Elbrus technology

Intel said today that it has hired a team of ex-Elbrus developers, they also acquired some intellectual property of this "would-be Itanium killer company".
The firm said this morning that the hiring of ex-Elbrus engineers brought its R&D presence in Russia up to around 1,000 people and also gave it a centre in St Petersburg.
