Sony Ericsson plans to increase its market share in China by launching a few new entry-level cell phones.

John Peter Leesi, Sony Ericsson's chief finance officer and vice president, said that the company will develop more simple low-priced phones in addition to the more advanced higher-priced phones in order to gain more market share in the Chinese market.
China's mobile phone subscribers reached 334 million at the end of last year, the largest in the world, and the number is expected to reach 700 million within five years, accounting for a quarter of the world's handsets.
