Hardware modder turns Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid-i keyboard LEDs into Snake (video)

A hardware hacker by the name of Spritetm invented cool new ways to use the LED backlight of keyboards. By modding the firmware of a Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid-i keyboard, Jeroen Domburg developed an awesome actuation illumination effect as well as a way to play Snake on the keyboard.
Domburg is evidently controlling the LEDs over USB, and he promises to share more details in an article on SpritesMods.com. The site is filled with cool hacks and hardware projects—plus accompanying source code.
