AMD Radeon R9 Nano launch is imminent

With AMD's Fury lineup not living up to expectations, all eyes are now on the Radeon R9 Nano. This compact 6-inch long card is based on the same GPU as the Fury X but with lower clockspeeds to fit inside a 175W TDP.

Intended for compact gaming systems and HTPCs, the Radeon R9 Nano promises performance in excess of the old Radeon R9 290X, while offering 90 percent higher performance/Watt than the R9 290X and 50 percent better performance/Watt than the Fury X.

The launch date is still somewhat of a mystery but it's believed to be very close. VideoCardz came across an August 27th launch date while TechPowerUp talks about a late-August/early-September launch schedule.

The biggest mystery of all remains the pricing, and we really feel the price tag is either going to make or break this card.
