NVIDIA GP106 GPU gets pictured

Last week NVIDIA showed off a Drive PX2 PCB with two Pascal-based GPUs at the GPU Technology Conference. Not much was said about the GPUs but the rumor mill believes the two chips are GP106 GPUs. The chips appear to be a bit smaller than the GM206, the die size is estimated to be around 170-200mm², whereas the GM206 has a die size of 227mm².
First we learn that the new board called PG418 is not desktop solution. It’s Pascal-based MXM module. This could be either new GeForce GTX 1060M or some fancy Quadro chip. I think this is GP106 for two reasons. First of all this chip is simply too big to be GP107. Secondly I don’t remember any GM107 based card in MXM format, so it’s unlikely that its successor would need it. Now, speaking of the size, the area of this die is somewhere between 170-200 mm2. It is definitely smaller than GM206 (227 mm2), but also bigger than ‘typical’ size for entry-level GPU.
