Motherboard makers will likely show off some X299 motherboards at Computex in June but the arrival of the full Basin Falls platform will have to wait until August. This new platform uses the LGA2066 socket and will support quad-channel DDR4-2667 memory.
It appears the entire lineup will consist of just four procesors: three Skylake-X models and one Kaby Lake-X processor. The Skylake-X versions will be the most potent ones, these are expected to be six-core, eight-core and ten-core models with a 140W TDP. The Kaby Lake-X chip on the other hand will have just four cores and will stick to a 112W TDP.
The site also writes X299 will support Intel Optane Technology and notes the chip giant invested a lot of effort into this technology. Not a lot is known about the Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X but BenchLife did hear the chips will have cache memory improvements and enhanced, more balanced performance.
