Intel shared some details about the performance of Coffee Lake at a distributor event in China. TechPowerUp reposted the leaked photo and translated the information.

Here's a quick look at how Intel's desktop lineup will evolve:
  • Core i7: 4-core, 8-threaded => 6-core, 12-threaded
  • Core i5: 4-core, 4-threaded => 6-core, 6-threaded
  • Core i3: 2-core, 4-threaded => 4-core , 4-threaded
  • So basically more cores across all price points. Take this with a grain of salt, but Intel promises single-threaded performance of its Coffee Lake-S platform will be 11 to 29 percent higher than Kaby Lake-S. Thanks to the higher number of cores, Intel projects multi-threaed performance will increase by 51 to 65 percent.

    In case of the Core i7-8700K flagship model, Intel projects 11 percent higher single-threaded and 51 percent higher multi-threaded performance versus the current Core i7-7700K. Coffee Lake will be revealed next week.
